In 1937, a cooperative was founded in Balliansloe in the heart of Galway on Ireland's west coast to provide work for the people of the region. When the owners were considering how to differentiate themselves from the existing Irish brands, they decided on the European-sounding name »Dubarry«. The name refers to Madame du Barry, the famous mistress of the French King Louis XV. Dubarry skilfully combines style and functionality. The company finds the inspiration for its products in the rough and breathtaking landscape of Ireland.
