The characterful, dry handle Waxed Cotton is made in Scotland, where this comfortably tailored jacket with perfect silhouette is also produced. The side back pleats provide excellent freedom of movement. The turned-up collar can also be closed with a throat tab. The breast pocket and wide bellows pockets with flaps and pleats offer substantial storage space. On the inside, two zipped pockets are worked into wide outer fabric facings. Two buttons are used to secure the throat tab to the turned-up collar when not in use. The pleasantly fine quilted lining of dark blue viscose is warming, allowing use of the wind- and water-repellent jacket cooler weather as well. The shoulder area fits perfectly and requires almost no padding. With centre vent in the back. Creating a stylish appearance for many occasions, the sturdy, hard-wearing yet breathable Waxed Cotton always ensures a sporty casualness that never appears careless, even with its natural patina. The nice thing about waxed cotton is that it is hard-wearing and long-lasting – the fine, densely woven cotton is strong and robust, and is made weather-repellent with its very dry wax finish.

In Dundee on the east coast of Scotland, Halley Stevensons began producing waxed fabrics to meet the high demands of professional fishermen back in 1864. Flax and linen fabrics have long since been replaced by densely woven cotton for clothing purposes. Impregnation is carried out using continuously improved recipes of special waxes developed in-house. Depending on the requirements, coarse, fine, thick and also very light fabrics are refined and impregnated.
When worn, the fabric acquires a charming patina. Creases, stains and repaired holes tell stories of hikers’, hunters’ and motorcyclists’ experiences in nature.
