Description
The Insulated Flannel Jac-Shirt combines the warmth of a jacket with the clean lines of a shirt and the familiar comfort of a truly good flannel. Its design draws on historical archive styles, yet feels anything but nostalgic – simply straightforward and purposeful. On cooler days it can be worn easily over a T-shirt or shirt; in harsher weather it also works perfectly as an insulating mid-layer beneath a more substantial jacket.
The fabric is a 9.3 oz cotton flannel, brushed on both sides for an exceptionally soft feel. Additional insulation is provided by a polyester filling quilted in a 2-inch box pattern. This quilt-through construction keeps the insulation evenly in place and creates a stable, body-close layer of air that retains warmth effectively without making the Jac-Shirt feel heavy, stiff or bulky.
The chest pockets are protected by buttoned flaps, keeping small items of gear securely stored. Deep-set, piped hand pockets are discreetly integrated into the front and sit exactly where you expect them when your hands start to feel cold. The button front and shirt collar give it the clean, understated character of a work shirt – simply with far more substance for colder conditions. A rounded shirt hem allows for ease of movement and a balanced silhouette, whether worn over trousers or layered underneath.
