Description
The wool/linen blend used for this versatile and lightweight men's jacket with a slim two-button shape is woven in Ireland. With breast welt pocket, two flap pockets and a small ticket pocket. The back part is worked with side vents. The half lining in a burnt orange tone has two inside pockets, one of which can be buttoned. The cooling and temperature-regulating properties of the light herringbone fabric are ideal for the summer. Due to the high wool content, the tendency to crease is much lower than with pure linen.
Magee, a company that specialises in tweed fabrics, was founded more than 150 years ago. At the end of the 18th century, this durable, coarse fabric was hand-woven by part-time fishermen or farmers and part-time weavers in Donegal. It was the perfect fabric to counter the damp and cold weather that is common in the north west of Ireland. Today, a family business proudly continues the tradition of weaving in Donegal Town. Just as with the herringbone fabric from the Robert Noble collection that Magee has been manufacturing for several years, only natural fibres such as wool, alpaca, cashmere and linen are used with complete conviction.
