The GunDog Affair »Hampshire« Ladies’ Tweed Jacket, Size 36

Description

The »Hampshire« ladies’ tweed jacket blends classic British tailoring with feminine elegance and practical design. Its fitted silhouette, refined lines and distinctive details express a timeless style that bridges tradition and modernity.

Material & craftsmanship

This jacket is made in one of the last remaining traditional coat and jacket manufactories in England. Every seam, cut and detail reflects the artisanal precision that defines British tailoring worldwide. The tweed is woven by Marling & Evans – one of England’s oldest mills, established in the 16th century in Huddersfield, the historic heart of British wool production. Their environmentally responsible process foregoes dyeing altogether: the wool is left undyed, resulting in a tweed that is not only especially sustainable but also uniquely rich in tone and texture.

Fit & comfort

The close-cut, slightly tailored silhouette accentuates a feminine figure. Finely crafted vents at the sleeves and back ensure lasting comfort, whether on extended walks or in the field. The taupe collar felt adds a subtle touch of refinement to the overall look.

Function & details

Thoughtful, stylish elements make the »Hampshire« a functional outdoor jacket that also meets the highest aesthetic standards. The ends of the action back pleat, sleeve cuffs, and welted flaps on the patch bellow pockets are reinforced with Alcantara – a premium and durable finish. Slanted, piped ticket and flap pockets blend harmoniously into the design while offering secure storage for small essentials. A buttoned half-belt at the back allows the waist to be individually adjusted. The jacket fastens with a concealed zip and classic button placket.

Historic inspiration:

Originally developed as a durable working fabric for Scottish crofters, tweed was adopted by the British aristocracy in the 19th century. In the form of Estate Tweed, it became a signature element of refined outdoor attire for Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and their successors. To this day, tweed stands for sophistication, durability, and British way of life. The »Hampshire« women's tweed jacket distils this spirit into a garment that masterfully combines style with substance.
