Description
The cotton twill fabric with a harmonious Tattersall check makes the blouse exceptionally versatile. Originally used for horse blankets, Tattersall has become a staple of British country style. The name derives from stable master Richard Tattersall and his London riding hall, established in 1766.
The blouse is finished with genuine mother-of-pearl buttons, placed closely together along the placket to prevent any unwanted gaping. The buttons are sewn using a traditional Florentine technique, where the thread forms a rooster’s foot pattern – a small yet refined mark of artisanal craftsmanship.
After precise cutting, the collar, cuffs and sleeves are hand-finished. Broad topstitching on the collar, placket and cuffs enhances the blouse’s elegant appearance. Instead of the standard seven stitches per centimetre, nine stitches are used – a visible mark of outstanding quality. The convertible cuffs can be worn with or without cufflinks, making the blouse a truly versatile essential for a refined wardrobe.
Each blouse undergoes 40 meticulous production steps before taking on its final form.
The cotton twill fabric made from two-ply yarns (100/2) impresses with its soft feel, dense weave and subtle sheen. Its distinctive diagonal weave lends the fabric a refined look, while also making it durable and wonderfully smooth to the touch. Compared to poplin, twill is slightly warmer and less transparent – ideal for sophisticated everyday and business wear.
