Russia leather
For tanning, two hides of Siberian steppe cows were always stitched together and tanned and greased with willow bark and birch tar oil, which gave the leather its special stability and its special, smoky scent. The special vegetable tanning makes the leather particularly hard-wearing and water-repellent, yet supple. Only a few tanneries are still able to produce this high-quality leather today.
