»Karlsruhe« Men's Sneakers

Description

The type of shoe known as a «sneaker» first appeared around 1860. At that time, shoes usually had hard leather soles that you could hear with every step. Treading quietly only became possible with the invention of rubber soles, which were made of caoutchouc – natural rubber. The first such shoes were invented around 1860 in England as croquet shoes. They featured a flexible rubber sole and a canvas upper. The term »sneaker« was first used by Henry Nelson McKinney in 1917. The US advertising expert used it to describe the typical rubber soles that made the shoe quieter – as if you were creeping across the floor. With such shoes, you really could sneak up on people.

In cooperation with Franz Gustav, the »Karlsruhe« sneaker has been created in an exclusive colour design for »The GunDog Affair«. Olive-coloured suede is cleverly teamed with truffle-coloured nappa leather at the edge of the sole to create a harmonious and sophisticated colour combination. The padded, removable footbed is extremely comfortable and also antibacterial, creating the ideal conditions for healthy feet. The extremely flexible, honey-coloured outsole made of high-quality rubber gives the sneakers the perfect finishing touch. You can walk for a long time on the non-slip, tubular rubber tread without tiring. The secret lies in the »Hovercraft sole« which contains air cushions and comfortably absorbs every impact. In addition to this shock-absorbing principle, the sneaker is double-stitched – a real rarity that makes it durable and feel better than going barefoot. The insole is sewn into the shoe, then the surrounding leather frame is sewn on with a second seam and fastened under the outsole. This double-stitching technique creates a construction that is durable, strong and long-lasting. The sneaker is ideal after a hard day's hunting or as casual leisurewear. Discover the most comfortable shoes of your life!
