Over time the company has evolved and become a leading Scottish knitwear manufacturer. The Balmoral and Glengarry bonnets are still made in Stewarton and worn by clans and pipers worldwide. In addition to traditional headwear, the range has expanded, and the company is now also known for luxurious knitted hats, scarves and gloves. Robert Mackie attaches great importance to sustainability and environmental friendliness. Everything they produce is made in Scotland and they only use natural yarns. By making this conscious decision, they ensure that their products are renewable and sustainable. As a Woolmark licensee, a member of Sedex and close cooperation partner of the Ethical Trade Initiative, they are firmly anchored in the sustainable fashion industry. They are also proud members of UKFT (UK Fashion and Textile Association) Scotland.
