»Lady Windsor« Ladies Brogue Derby Boots

The classic ankle boot appeared in England around 1840. It served to protect the foot from external influences and usually reached 5 to 10 centimetres above the ankle. The »Windsor« model is a classic brogue derby boot. Typical for this type of shoe is both the open lacing (Derby) and the distinctive hole pattern (Brogue). Originally, the »brogueings«, or holes, were made to easily dry a shoe that had become wet during hunting or daily field work. After the aristocratic class discovered these shoes as a fashion accessory in the 19th century, the holes became finer and the patterns more individual. These perforations are also called lyra holes. The combination of hand-finished box calf leather with high-quality oiled velour and the finely accentuated colour contrast make the shoe an absolute head-turner. The chrome-free tanned leather lining and the padded footbed are particularly comfortable to wear. The Goodyear welted leather/rubber sole has a distinct profile and thus offers a secure grip. The »Goodyear Welted« style is the most elaborate type of shoe making. With proper care, it ensures a long-lasting shoe that promises perfect comfort. Welted shoes are made of stronger and therefore more durable leather. Due to this leather, as well as the significantly stiffer construction of the shoe, the shoe needs to be worn in until it has achieved its optimal fit.
