Immerse yourself in a world of luxury and elegance with the unique blanket by Johnstons of Elgin....
Immerse yourself in a world of luxury and elegance with the unique blanket by Johnstons of Elgin. Woven from the finest cashmere in the Scottish Highlands, it combines exceptional softness with unparalleled warmth. Cashmere fibres are considered the finest and most luxurious fibres available. They are harvested from the undercoat of the cashmere goat, native to the namesake region on the border between India, Pakistan, and China. These goats protect themselves against the extreme cold and humidity with a fleece of long, coarse guard hair. Beneath this lies the smooth, soft, and warming down hair, known as duvet. The harsher the environmental conditions the Cashmere goats endure, the finer their hair becomes.
What makes this blanket particularly special is its double-faced fabric, revealing two differently coloured sides, creating a multifaceted aesthetic. One side of the blanket is in a luxurious red, while the other side boasts a sophisticated camel tone.
With its exquisite softness and exceptional warmth, cashmere is renowned for its timeless elegance. A cashmere blanket by Johnstons of Elgin is not merely a home accessory but an experience of unparalleled comfort and luxury. Its delicate texture far surpasses other types of wool, offering warmth without the weight of other materials.

    Johnstons of Elgin

Founded in 1797 by Alexander Johnston, the company began its journey in Elgin, a Scottish town on the banks of the River Lossie, with the construction of a mill. Since its inception, the company has earned an excellent reputation for producing high-quality textiles. The Johnston and Harrison families have led the firm across generations. Johnstons of Elgin began producing woollen fabrics as early as 1810, and in 1851, it started weaving vicuña, cashmere, and lambswool in Scotland. The company's commitment to high quality standards and support for local craftsmanship has closely linked it with the British Royal Family. Under the reign of King Charles III, Johnstons of Elgin was appointed as the official purveyor of tweed fabrics to the royal court. The company's mills in Elgin and Hawick remain among the last vertically integrated mills in Scotland, where all processes involved in garment production are conducted internally. Johnstons of Elgin uses only the finest cashmere and Merino wool for its exclusive wool products. In April 2021, the company was awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise for its efforts in sustainability.
