The »Emotion 1969« vintage blend is an absolute rarity and something very special for lovers of fine spirits. The basis of this rum is a distillate from the O.K. Distillery (now Grays Distillery) from 1969, which was matured in whisky casks. In 2015, they discovered some old, forgotten casks in the cellar and decided to create an extraordinary blend. Married with the best vintages from 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 and matured further until 2019 in 400-litre cognac barrels, this resulted in a top-class rum that won the Canne d'Or Award at the International Sugarcane Spirit Awards in 2020! The Canne d'Or is awarded to the world's best spirit of the year.
Due to the long and careful maturation in wooden barrels, the vintage blend impresses with a warm amber hue in the glass. The nose is enchanted by ripe fruit aromas, paired with equally intense, sweet notes of buttery pastry. Its flavour is bursting with sweet spicy aromas and a finely balanced note of citrus fruits. The multi-layered and complex rum bids farewell with an impressive and long-lasting finish.

In 1852, Pierre Charles François Harel founded a distillery, now Grays Distillery, on the island of Mauritius with the intention of producing the best rum using the finest sugar cane juice. The sugar cane for the production of the rum came from his own fields on the Pampelmousses Garden Estate, the western part of the island state of Mauritius. Today, the fine distillate is still produced according to the original process developed by Pierre Charles François Harel in the early days. The small distillery still produces its products in limited editions, which makes the products a real insider's tip for connoisseurs of high-quality rums.
