Medalla Real Gran Reserva Chardonnay White Wine, 750 ml

The vinification: Manual harvest in the morning to take advantage of the natural coolness of the grapes (10-12 °C). After pressing, 60 % of the wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in steel tanks using selected yeasts to preserve the fruit and freshness. The remaining 40 % is fermented in French oak barrels (30 % first fill). This portion of the wine then matures for another six months on fine lees with weekly bâtonnage (stirring of the lees). The wine: A glass of brilliant yellow with lime green reflections at the rim. A scent of ripe, exotic fruits combined with dried fruit nuances (apricot, peach) and a touch of hazelnuts, sweets and fresh grapefruit awaits the wine lover’s nose. The aromas are reflected on the palate and the impression of tropical fruits becomes more pronounced. One senses a pleasant minerality and a good balance between its natural sweetness and acid structure. The elegantly integrated wood notes accompany every sip of wine through to a long-lasting finish. The food: Perfect as an aperitif as well as with starters, poultry, fish with herb dressing and smoked fish.
