Quinta do Pégo Colheita 2011 Port, 750 ml

Quinta do Pégos Colheita is a rarity.
This is only the third time in the history of Quinta do Pégo that a Colheita has been produced. The vintages include only 2003, 2007 - and now 2011. The port is made by Rozès' winemaker Manuel Henrique under the supervision of Wouter Pienaar.
The grapes (Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Sousão, Tinto Cão and Tinta Roriz) come from old vines from the Quinta's vineyards.
The wine is aged in traditional granite warehouses and aged in 600 litre oak barrels for about 8 years.The Quinta do Pégo Colheita 2011 is a fine and elegant port of excellent quality with a dark red to deep brown colour. It is full-bodied and very fruity yet structured, with a highly elegant palate and a perfect balance between youth and maturity.
Beautifully structured with soft tannins and great harmony between concentrated fruit and balsamic notes such as vanilla, caramel and spices. The palate is full and creamy with an elegant and long finish. An impressively delicious Colheita that skilfully reflects the 2011 harvest year.
This port by Colheita should be served chilled. It is excellent on its own as an after-dinner digestif or corresponding with strong cheeses, chocolate and desserts..Enjoy it from now on to at least 2030
